King Electric Bike Shop Service Policy
Introduction
At King Electric Bike Shop, we are committed to providing professional, transparent, and reliable service for bicycles, e-bikes, electric scooters, scooters, and other personal mobility devices. By requesting service or approving a repair estimate, you agree to the following Service Policy.
Repair Authorization
By approving a repair estimate, you authorize King Electric Bike Shop to perform the approved repairs, order any parts necessary to complete your repair, and perform any labor reasonably necessary to complete the approved service. Authorization may be provided in person, by telephone, by text message, by email, or through an electronic estimate approval system. Once parts have been ordered or repair work has begun, your repair is considered authorized.
Repair Estimates
Repair estimates are based on the condition of your property at the time of inspection. If additional repairs exceeding the original estimate become necessary, King Electric Bike Shop will make reasonable efforts to obtain your approval before proceeding.
Special-Order Parts
Parts ordered specifically for your repair are non-refundable and non-returnable once ordered. If you cancel your repair after authorizing the purchase of special-order parts, you remain responsible for the full cost of those parts.
Ownership of Special-Order Parts
Special-order parts become your property once payment has been made by King Electric Bike Shop on your behalf. If you choose not to complete the repair, you remain responsible for reimbursing King Electric Bike Shop for the full cost of those parts. Once your balance has been paid in full, you may retrieve your purchased parts.
Payment for Repairs
Payment is due immediately upon completion of all authorized repairs and before your property is released. You agree to pay all authorized labor, parts, taxes, storage fees, and other approved charges.
District of Columbia Artisan’s Lien
Pursuant to D.C. Code § 40-307.01, a mechanic or artisan who repairs personal property at the owner’s request has a lien upon that property for the reasonable value of labor performed and materials furnished and may retain possession of the property until all lawful charges have been paid in full. King Electric Bike Shop reserves all rights provided under this statute.
Customer Notification
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and current contact information. Notification may be made by text message, telephone, email, or other written communication. Notification sent to the contact information provided constitutes sufficient notice. King Electric Bike Shop is not responsible for failed notifications resulting from inaccurate or outdated contact information.
Unclaimed Property
Storage fees begin three (3) calendar days after notification that repairs are complete. Any bicycle, e-bike, electric scooter, scooter, or other personal property remaining unclaimed for fourteen (14) calendar days after notice has been provided shall be considered abandoned under King Electric Bike Shop’s service policy. King Electric Bike Shop reserves all rights and remedies available under District of Columbia law, including enforcement of its lien rights under D.C. Code § 40-307.01 and recovery of storage fees.
Customer-Supplied Parts
King Electric Bike Shop reserves the right to refuse installation of customer-supplied parts. If accepted, the shop does not warrant their compatibility, performance, durability, or manufacturer warranty. Labor charges are non-refundable once work has been performed.
Warranty
King Electric Bike Shop warrants its workmanship for the period stated on your repair invoice. Manufacturer warranties apply only to eligible replacement parts and exclude normal wear, abuse, accidents, water damage, improper maintenance, unauthorized modifications, and
customer-supplied parts.
Acceptance of Terms
By requesting service or authorizing repairs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Service Policy. King Electric Bike Shop reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. The version in effect when repairs are authorized governs the transaction.
